Our second set of doors (this time for the Hazelnut Inn’s mechanical room) are nearing completion. Each door is solid 2 1/4” fir. We routed pockets into the doors for the “locking gears” and steel filigree bands. Next we will sand blast the wood to bring out the edge grain before staining the wood and ageing the steel.
The Captain’s quarters/bedroom of the North Star Suite at the Hazelnut Inn are now officially sea-worthy. The fellows over at Element Spray Foam have been busy coating the interior with expanding foam and it is looking nice and snug inside the Avellana!
The North Star Suite’s indirect lighting is all installed and we just have to tidy up a few details before we insulate. Very soon we can begin sculpting the concrete interior!
We spent a little bit of time on the model today working out the placement of the massive boulders that form the Under Hill’s fireplace surround.
With the cold weather keeping us indoors we have decided to spend a little time working out the details for the interior of the Under Hill Suite. You can see a king size bed in the corner and the beginnings of a fireplace on the right.
This week we mocked up a quick prototype for the lights in the first of the Hazelnut Inn’s master bedrooms. These clamshell lights should give off a nice soft indirect glow.
