Which Story To Tell?

Our day job — theme park construction — is all about visual storytelling. As we dive into the detailed designs for the inn, we find ourselves talking just as much about the narrative as we are about the art. The big question is always: What story are we telling?

The explorer’s suite, the North Star, was “built” by a world traveler who lived a life of great adventure. Many of the artifacts in her care will be on display throughout the suite and garden. Her journeys have directly inspired the suite’s architecture. Even a small detail, like the brackets under the eaves of the front tower, will tie back to this narrative.

So the question is: Do we focus purely on a maritime theme (given that the suite’s bedroom resembles a tall ship), or should we broaden the lens to celebrate her wider travels and adventures?
