In celebration of Yarrow Days 2026, we are opening the gates of the Hazelnut Inn for a special community open house. This is your chance to step inside our petite castle and explore every handcrafted detail for yourself.

Wander through the private courtyard (yes, there’s a moat!), climb the stairs to the tower bedroom, and perhaps even discover the secret passage that leads to the library nook. We’ll be on hand all afternoon to share behind-the-scenes stories about the design and construction process. Whether you’ve followed our journey from the start or are just curious about what’s behind the gates, we can’t wait to see your friendly faces.

At the Hazelnut Inn, we’ve reimagined the legendary mountain hoard as a private sanctuary of comfort and quiet luxury. Radiant-heated floors, a sumptuous king-size bed, hand-painted details, custom lighting, and intricate stonework combine to create a space that feels entirely your own.

But the true luxury is found in the experience. Soak together in a tub for two, surrounded by the quiet warmth of the suite, or step outside into your private garden and look up at the stars.

Here, the world beyond the mountain can wait.

Just beyond Vancouver, the Fraser Valley offers a different kind of weekend escape. In the village of Yarrow, Chilliwack, the Hazelnut Inn is home to three fantasy suites, each with its own private entrance, garden, and distinct design.

Each suite is its own world.

 

Three Suites, Three Worlds

The three suites take very different approaches to fantasy.

The Copper Crown Suite

The Copper Crown is a tiny castle, built around classic elements of medieval fantasy. Stone arches shape the sitting room, while the tower bedroom centres on a crowned bed.

The Under Hill Suite

The Under Hill Suite takes its inspiration from old-world folklore and woodland dwellings. Curved beams and tree roots extend through the ceiling, while the suite sits beneath a green hill. A stone hearth adds to its whimsical character.

The North Star Suite

The North Star Suite combines the atmosphere of an explorer’s study with maritime and celestial elements. Its walls are painted deep midnight blue, while the ceiling features a hand-painted map of the planets. Rich colours, nautical influences, and celestial imagery give the room a distinct sense of place.

A Weekend In Yarrow & The Fraser Valley

The Hazelnut Inn is adults-only, with each suite designed for privacy. Private entrances and walled gardens make it possible to spend much of a weekend on the property without seeing much of the outside world.

Still, Yarrow and the surrounding Fraser Valley offer plenty to explore.

A morning might begin with a walk through the village, followed by coffee or a pastry. Beyond Yarrow, the valley offers wineries, farms, walking trails, and other places to explore at your own pace. By evening, the simplest plan may be the best one: return to the inn and settle into your private garden. Each suite has its own water feature, adding the sound of moving water to the surrounding greenery.

A Stay Built Around The Details

Much of the Hazelnut Inn’s character comes from the accumulation of physical details. Stonework and arches establish the castle character of the Copper Crown. Curved beams and roots transform the Under Hill into a sheltered woodland retreat. In the North Star, midnight-blue walls and celestial details create an atmosphere that is both nautical and otherworldly.

The result is not one overarching fantasy theme, but three carefully constructed spaces. The experience is about more than having somewhere unusual to sleep. It is about spending time in a setting deliberately built to feel removed from the everyday.
