You’ll find the threshold of this retreat beneath the keel of the Avellana — a vessel that once outran the King’s cutters and danced through the spindrift of the Spanish Main. Step through its iron gate and you shall find a garden; a verdant treasure-isle hidden from the eyes of landlubbers. Here, waterfalls sing to the ferns, and a glowing bowl casts its flickering light upon relics from a forgotten age.

Within its walls, you’ll find no beggarly comforts but the grandest appointments a buccaneer could desire. The air itself seems to carry the scent of subtle spices and old parchment. Every nook is crammed with the salvage of a life spent plying the foam — oddments and arcane trinkets from the very world's end perch upon every shelf.

A tidy galley, well-provisioned with complimentary victuals and spirits of the bean and leaf, ensures you will not go without while under this roof. Moreover, a grand tub waits to soak the brine from your weary bones, and a hearth glows bright enough to guide a ship through a gale.

Tis a snug harbour, indeed, if you should wish to leave the world astern, and find your own hidden treasure behind its doors.

When we first started designing the Hazelnut Inn we knew we weren’t just building a hotel — we were creating a magical setting for the stories our guests bring with them.

After all, our little getaway began as part of our own love story. Our vision wasn’t about bricks, wood, or nails. It was about capturing the feeling — the sense of escape — and the spark of wonder you find in your favourite novel. We wanted to build a place where the everyday world falls away, leaving space for magic to find its way into your life.

Every detail; the curving walls of the Under Hill; the celestial ceiling in the North Star, the banners hanging in the Copper Crown, is all designed so that you can step into your own private fairytale.
