The North Star was once the home of an eccentric explorer, and is filled with architectural artifacts from every mythical corner of the world.

By all accounts, the Under Hill has been in old Mister Burrows' family for generations untold. Tucked away behind the walls of its own private garden, this little gem is as grand as they come. 

According to legend, the Copper Crown is the ancestral home of an ancient line of aristocrats who were renowned orchardists, dragon hunters and even (in one telling) dragon riders.

Today, we are making a few things for our Pinterest account. We came across a nice little shot of the model and thought it would make a good pin. But it won't be long now until we will be able to take a picture of the real thing. We can hardly wait!

Construction on the Hazelnut Inn is well under way! That means it is time to start thinking about how to tell people about our little boutique hotel. We plan on showing at several wedding fairs next year and we will need a little something for the magazines. Here is our first mock-up.

We lugged the model outside last week (it is heavy!) and Becke snapped a few pictures. Here is a shot showing the inn as seen from the south east corner of the parking lot. As you can see, the Copper Crown suite features prominently from this side. A perfect getaway for any would be royal couple.

We have all been very busy digging, welding, sculpting and painting in preparation for the Hazelnut Inn's construction. Meanwhile, we have been getting more and more requests to book a stay!

It is still too early to start taking reservations -- We haven't even poured the footings yet! -- but (as you can see) Henry and I have been working hard to get our reservation system all sorted out.

In the mean time, if you would like some advance notice for booking, you are welcome to submit your name and email. Just let us know which suite you would like to stay in and we will send you an "early bird" email just before we are ready to take reservations.

FYI: The North Star will be the first suite to open.

When people see the scale model of the inn for the first time they often exclaim, "I want to be the first person to stay!" If it is a group of people, there is also a conversation about which suite they like the best. (The Under Hill and the North Star are running neck and neck in this debate.)

Last weekend we displayed the model as part of the Yarrow Days celebration.  We suspected that many people would want to know when we would be open! We aren't taking reservations yet but we wanted a little something for people to take with them to remind them of us when the time comes.

With that in mind, we asked Lisa at Engravex to print us up some business cards. The cards look great and we handed out quite a few at Yarrow Days. All we have to do now is build the inn!
