The Under Hill suite’s garden wall is taking shape. It won’t be long and we will be ready to install the garden’s moon gate.
We continue to make progress on the North Star suite’s garden entrance and the storage room courtyard. Next up we will be installing the Under Hill suite’s garden gate before finishing the courtyard’s sculpted concrete.
It has been a glorious BC summer this week (rain, rain, and more rain). Fortunately, it is snug and dry in the North Star suite! The sideboards are looking good with a few coats of stain on them and it won’t be long before they are finished.
I have never claimed to be a finish carpenter… still, I am very happy with the curved sideboards that wrap around the North Star suite’s bedroom. The fir boards are screwed and doweled securely in place and, while they still need to be stained and the headboard also needs a more few coats of paint, the interior of the ship is coming along nicely. It really is a one of a kind room!
The grass seed we planted last week is beginning to sprout this weekend. It will help keep the front of the property presentable while we finish up the series of waterfalls that border the North Star suite’s private garden.
The North Star suite’s sign is now welded in place. You will notice we still need to finish painting the rudder but that won’t take too long.
