The Under Hill Suite’s quilts are slowly coming together. They are promising to be nice and comfy ☺️

We continue to make great progress inside the Under Hill Suite! Just a few more weeks and we will be finished painting.

Today we blended the Under Hill Suite’s bedroom wallpaper. Next week we will add the patina of age, and then we will be ready to install some lights.

We continue to make good progress inside the Under Hill Suite. Everything is getting more colourful as we close in on the finish line.

We’ve began the Under Hill’s ensuite tile in earnest today. The tile pattern is reminiscent of the suite’s quilts we started last week. I’m looking forward to seeing everything come together!

My mother and I have been sneaking a little time on the weekends to start the drapery for the Under Hill Suite. Many of the curtains and other fabrics will be quilted (as befits a cozy underground home).

I have fond memories of my mother and grandmother sewing together — quilting racks filling the living room. And, when I was old enough, I joined them (pricking my fingers on the tiny needles 😂). But it has been many years since my mother and I quilted together — returning to it now feels like stealing a piece of my childhood and bringing it into the present.
