The North Star Suite’s sleeping giant is tucked up in his garden bed. I am looking forward to seeing him peeking out from behind the garden’s plants one day!
The Daily Hive’s Sarah Anderson was kind enough to write an article featuring our little boutique hotel. You can read Sarah’s article on Daily Hive Urbanized.
Some of my fondest memories growing up are the time I spent working with my father. He often tells stories of my laying bricks or painting window splashes at three years old. And he always ends his stories with the same coda (said with a smile): “It only took a little longer when you helped.”
My children are also eager to help me work (Juniper is getting to be quite a good painter) and this weekend Henry and I planted a tree up in the North Star Suite’s garden. We worked hard all morning (stopping once for a coffee break with grandpa) and by noon we had the tree in the ground.
Dad is right of course, it does take a little longer with help, but reliving those memories from the other side is absolutely magical!
With its exterior paint nearly finished, the Copper Crown seems almost to glow in the evening light.
With every passing day the Copper Crown’s painted exterior draws closer to completion. It won’t be long and we will be out of things to paint! We are sure to keep busy however, since there are many more sections of the inn yet to be built.
The Under Hill is looking a little more colourful these days. I am looking forward to starting the landscaping on this suite. It is going to feel like a little green slice of heaven!
