Today we began the theme work in the North Star suite’s sitting room tower in earnest. It won’t be long before it is ready for colour!
The light switches in the Captain’s quarter’s provide a nice little detail to complement the suite’s theming. This shape is repeated throughout the gardens, on the exterior facade, and inside the North Star itself. It is a subtle element and guests may not pick it out, but repeated elements like this add to a richness that rewards return visits. The three switches on the left control the lights in the bedroom while the two on the right (closer to the entrance) are for the living room tower. Separating them helps make this distinction intuitive.
The interior sculpting of the bedroom for the North Star suite at the Hazelnut Inn is nearly complete. Tomorrow we should finish off the carved concrete and then we will be ready to start the painting!
