Because the interior of the North Star suite will be carved concrete — rather than drywall — we need to do a little pre-planning for things like hanging pieces of art on the walls. These steel spikes will be attached to the walls prior to the plaster-work. They should be good and strong!

With the doors and shutters for the mechanical room installed it is time to move on to the next section of the inn. Before we switch gears I wanted to post a quick shot showing these beautiful doors in context. We will come back this summer to finish up the exterior. In the mean time, we will be concentrating on the interior of the North Star suite.

Today we installed the shutters on either side of the mechanical room doors. I am looking forward to seeing the rest of the wall finished up!
