Just north of Seattle, in the quiet village of Yarrow, British Columbia, sits the Hazelnut Inn — a place built for couples who want to slow down, settle in, and stay somewhere that feels genuinely unlike home.
The drive north is easy. In about two and a half hours, you can leave Seattle behind, cross into the Fraser Valley, and find yourself surrounded by open views, mountains, and a much quieter pace. No airport security. No flight. Just a change of scenery and some time away together.
Three Distinct Private Suites
The Hazelnut Inn has three private suites: the North Star Suite, the Under Hill Suite, and the Copper Crown Suite. Each is its own little world.
The North Star Suite takes its inspiration from the sea and the night sky, with a star-mapped ceiling overhead. It is the sort of room that invites you to look up and stay awhile.
The Under Hill Suite is tucked underground with a glowing hearth and the feeling of a hidden retreat. Settle in and pour a cup of tea — there’s nowhere else you need to be.
The Copper Crown Suite evokes the grandeur of a storybook castle with soaring stonework that suggests stepping into another time.
Throughout the property, we used timbers, bricks, and custom sculptures to create spaces that feel handcrafted rather than interchangeable. Each suite has a deep soaking tub built for two, along with board games and little treats for unhurried afternoons. Outside, private garden gates open onto courtyards with waterfalls and tucked-away places to wander, sit, talk, or simply listen to the water for a while.
Nothing here was designed to feel like an ordinary hotel. The idea was to create three private little worlds where you can close the gate behind you and settle into a place that feels entirely your own.
If you’re looking for a getaway that feels like more than a change of address, come spend a little time with us in Yarrow.
