Peter finished carving the dragon on the Copper Crown’s door and with that it was ready to do the sandblasting. This aged the door nicely and brought out the woodgrain beautifully. The big hinges are on the outside while the fancy dragon will be be a feature on the inside. It is a remarkable door already. Now Becke will work her magic with the paint and glazes.
The exterior of the Copper Crown Suite’s entry door features a set of oversized baroque hinges. Because the hinges will be set into the door we needed to carve cavities for them. Luckily, the router makes this a fairly straightforward process.
We have been pecking away at the North Star Suite’s interior while we wait for the spring weather. The concrete is coming along nicely, including this wonderful stone octopus tub surround. We also have a few base coats of paint started — it looks a little garish as a result, but rest assured it will be spectacular when it is finished!
The North Star suite’s sculpted tub surround is well on its way. It is going to be a cozy little spot for a soak!
Yesterday, I installed the North Star Suite’s necessarium door. With the door in place we are ready to finish the outside of the washroom walls — it’s just about time to call the plumber.
