We have been looking forward to installing the Avellana’s rudder — it is still mostly imaginary but it won’t be long before we can cry out — “second star to the right and straight on till morning!”
The interior of the Avelana is looking good these days. It won’t be long before the North Star suite’s bedroom is finished and we can move on to painting the tower living room!
The mechanical room walls are starting to take shape — if you look carefully you can see the gentle S-curve that the finished faux stone will eventually follow.
The last of our underground services have been completed and it is time to repair the sidewalks in front of the inn. It won’t be long and we will be walking on nice new concrete.
Today was a good day to do a little landscaping — and we happened to have a spare tree kicking around — so we planted this little conifer out front. It is still early to be doing any major planting, but it is nice to have some green out by the road!
Today, we did a quick test fit of the ship’s wheel that will adorn the railing overlooking the North Star suite’s tower living room. We will apply some finishing touches to the wheel before we install it for good.
