With the messy business of carved concrete behind us it’s time to move on to some softer details. We’ve started picking fabrics for the North Star’s various window curtains and other drapery.
Stay tuned for more fun soon!

I don’t know how often you read this blog. But, as you may know, “Our Story” is a record our our time building the Hazelnut Inn. It’s fairly comprehensive but it certainly doesn’t include every picture or video we’ve ever taken of the inn. In fact, there is another entire blog over at the Imagination Corporation that documents the inn’s progress from a slightly different angle (although there is a fair bit of overlap).
We also maintain (to varying degrees) accounts with several social media platforms. So you can find additional pictures and videos on Pinterest, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter (or whatever it’s called these days) and LinkedIn.
For example, we have a smattering of recent videos on Instagram and TikTok.
We still have a little tile to finish up in the North Star’s ensuite, but we couldn’t resist tidying up the last of the plasterwork.
With all the sculpted concrete finished we are closing in on our opening date. We’ll be announcing our grand opening date very soon!
One more day! Just one more day and the North Star Suite’s interior concrete will be finished.
Today we sculpted the last of the beams in the ensuite. They look great and we are looking forward to finishing up in here!
We continue to chip away in the North Star’s ensuite. This is our final area to complete inside the suite and we are looking forward to seeing the finished product!
Guests staying in the North Star Suite will sleep inside the stern of the Avellana. The captain’s cabin is nearly complete and we are ready for the final details.
