The Dragon’s Library

I have a bit of a weakness for old-world details and I’ve loved bookplates since I was a child. There is something incredibly romantic about opening a book and finding a tiny piece of art inside that says, "this belongs here." So, when we started stocking the Copper Crown’s library, I couldn’t resist adding some bookplates.

I wanted the design to feel like a hidden treasure you’d find in a dusty corner of a wizard's study. I settled on a woodcut style: a young woman sitting peacefully, reading a story to an attentive dragon. It captures that sense of wonder we want every guest to feel here.

If you look closely at the book being read in the illustration, you’ll see it’s actually titled Hazelnut Inn. The inscription at the bottom is Latin for "From the Library of the Copper Crown." Which means every book now tells a bit of the Hazelnut Inn's own story.

Next time you’re curled up in the suite’s reading nook, take a peek inside the front cover.
